Scholarship Application
The National Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA) has established the NEMRA Educational Scholarship Foundation Program to assist children of its representative members and their employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs to the student’s choice.
This program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Eligibility
Applicants to the NEMRA Educational Scholarship Foundation Program must meet all of the following critical:
- Be dependent* children, age 25 and under, of representative members of National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA) and their employees. Members must be in good standing as of the application deadline date.
- *Dependent children are denied as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the representative member’s or employee’s household or primarily supported by the representative member or employee.
- High school seniors or graduates, current postsecondary undergraduates or graduate-level students, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate, graduate or doctoral study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, vocational-technical school or graduate school for the entire upcoming academic year.
Children of employees of NEMRA are ineligible to apply.
Awards
Up to 21 awards will be granted each year. The award checks will be issued in the U.S. currency.
Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate, graduate or doctoral studies. Awards may be used to pay for tuition, book, lab fees, or other education-related expenses.
NEMRA reserves the right to after or discontinue the NEMRA Educational Foundation at any time.
Program Calendar
September 1st -
Application website launched and program is open for application submission.
November 3rd -
3:00 PM Central time, Deadline for recommendation submission.
December 15th -
Scholarship of America sends congratulatory e-notifications to recipients with the process to accept award and verify enrollment. SAI notifies non-recipients.
Notification
Applicants will be notified the third week in January and announced at the NEMRA annual conference. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply for the program each year if they meet eligibility requirements.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the NEMRA Educational Foundation. Payments are made in early August.
Obligations
Recipients have no obligation to the NEMRA Educational Foundation. They are, however, required to notify Scholarship America of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information and to send a complete transcript when requested.
